How did we do?

We had a great time at our first-ever Virtual Conference!   Here's what a few of our attendees said about their experience at the 2020 Heartland Family History Conference:

“As all of us were, I was disappointed that we would not experience the excitement of an in-person conference as we have had in the past. Certainly, I missed the interaction with people and meeting the vendors. BUT....I was so surprised at our virtual conference! It was GREAT, EXCITING, and I learned many new things! My takeaway was extreme excitement to use some of Lisa's tips to continue with my DAR application and also to write an exciting story about my paternal family history to share with my cousins! I am the family historian and they have been begging me for years to share my knowledge. Now I know how I will share it in a fun and exciting way! The virtual Conference was a VERY GOOD EXPERIENCE and I WOULD DO IT AGAIN!”

“I have attended many conferences in my professional life. Lisa Alzo was the best I have ever heard. She was organized, presented new ideas, well-spoken, fluent, very positive. I loved the online venue.”

“I didn't expect to enjoy the online conference, instead of the in-person format when it was changed, but I LOVED it! The recordings allowed me to view each one when my mind was not overwhelmed by fatigue and I liked being able to stop and study a slide or jump to another website to check out content. I could view ALL of the presentations, too, instead of having to choose one for each session time. All of the recordings have been very professionally done and I appreciate all the time and effort the conference committee, and especially Barb, so generously gave to make it so wonderful! The variety of topics was super. I especially liked the African -American presentations. We don't get many of those in the mid-west. I did miss visiting with other participants, but that was the only downside to a digital conference.”
